Each BRN-22 Takedown receiver is precision-machined from 6061 aluminum billet to exacting tolerances. Why machined instead of forged, like most commercial receivers? All you need to do is look inside at the smooth, clean interior to realize that a machined receiver can be held to much tighter tolerances for a precise fit with other parts. After machining, BRN-22 Takedown receivers get a tough matte black Type 2 hardcoat anodized finish (similar to the finishes found on many AR-15 receivers) that blends with most barrel and 10/22® trigger module finishes. There’s even a pre-drilled cleaning rod hole at the rear of each Brownells BRN-22 Takedown receiver for easy cleaning of the bore from the chamber, the PROPER way to prevent cleaning rod from damage to the muzzle crown that can compromise accuracy.

The Railed BRN-22R Takedown has an integral Picatinny top rail for extra security and versatility in scope mounting.

A solid upper to replace a Ruger 10/22
Great replacement for the ruger 10/22 receiver.I dropped in all the factory 10/22 parts and it worked great.The receiver holes are tighter than the factory Ruger receiver making the pins hold much better than stock.

I really like the takedown receiver.It works great and I really like that it takes the stock Ruger parts so easily.I like the barrel adjustment lug to get that perfect fit for the barrel used.Great product!So great I bought 2!!!

I picked the non-railed model because I wanted to run the open sights that come on the Tactical Solutions barrel I bought for it.I sourced the Ruger factory 10/22 bolt and charging handle, Ruger BX trigger group, and the receiver pins all on this site, as well as the Magpul Hunter takedown stock.Everything went together without any issues.I saw some of the other reviews, and have only used Ruger bolts with 10/22s, so this was a non-issue.The receiver came with a bolt for securing it to the stock.It did not come with the 4 plug-filler screws for the top of the receiver.That is the only issue I can say I have had with this great receiver.
